What's on your workdesk Wednesday

So here we are at Wednesday again! I thought I'd start off this week with a picture of my nesties storage. I have each set on a strip of magnetic sheet, all of which fit into a plastic peel off storage box. Not very elegant, but very functional - the box doesn't take up much space so can be kept close at hand and it's quick and easy to flip through to find the dies I need.

My desk is a work desk as well as a craft desk - this week there is work going on as I'm putting together some rub on foil kits - cutting strips of foil to size, then assembling them into selection packs.
Thank you for all the kind comments last week! I do indeed have a wheeled chair - partly because I broke one of the dining room chairs by standing on it and haven't got round to fixing it yet - ahem! Oh and I've never been to Ikea either... I cottoned on to the Expedit after seeing other crafters talk about theirs and ordered it online. Delivery was quite dear (around £30), but overall cost was still reasonable, I thought it was a small price to pay to avoid driving to my nearest Ikea and faffing about with huge boxes. Putting it together was very straightforward too, you just need enough floor space to take the unit lying down. I did most of it on my own - just needed help with the final corner and lifting it upright.

If you're curious about WOYWW, more details of what it is about and how to join in are on Julia's Stamping Ground blog.

  3. Althou8gh I don't have any of the nesties, I love the storage solution. It is brilliant. Glad to hear you got a new chair and it was easy to assemble. That's what I like to hear.

Have a happy WOYWW and hope you don't have to work on that foil too hard or too long.

  8. Ah, you have patience - I would find that foil too clingy and thin for my tolerance levels! Lucky people like me can buy it pre cut from people like you then!
See, your nesties storage idea is popular and without us sharing our desks, we'd never have known..thanks!

  14. I have my Nesties in CD cases, if there's only one set in a box, I have put in some magnetic strip, but I'm afraid I've crammed 2 or 3 sets into some boxes, so a magnetic strip is useless in those.
Yours, I have to say, look fabulous!

  34. Hi Ms Foil. You are right it is kitchen worktop. Underneath is some budget IKEA stuff which has been cut down to the right height and I use those stacking boxes with lids they sell to keep the stuff I use most as close as poss.I store some nesties in cd cases with some magnetic stuff in although I have added a few more since then which I keep in their packs.Love that project with the toppers.Hugs BettyXXX

  35. Just realised-I try to keep a note on the nesties storage of how many there should be in each box due to serious memory problems then make sure I return them-they are so tiny some of them it's easy for me to lose themLove Betty

  37. I like your nesties storage idea - what sort of magnetic stuff are you using? I bought some for the same purpose, and tbh it's rubbish - the dies just fall right off.
Your desk looks so busy today
