What's on your workdesk Wednesday

Well here I am for my second WOYWW! Work desk is a little tidier this week. I've included in the picture the chair at the side which holds lots of essentials, many of them stored in a very Really Useful Box plastic holder, intended as an insert for a 9L box. It may not be pretty, but it was very reasonable and holds a lot of stuff. At the back of the table is a test template for a stepper card that I made last week. The brown parcel tape is there for clearing up paper dust from the cutting mat and from my Bigshot cutting plates.

When having a sort out at the weekend, I found some card page sketches that I'd printed out last year, I'm hoping to find time to have a browse through those for inspiration in the next few days.
Here's a picture of my main craft storage - I got the Ikea Expedit last year and it really did help to tidy up my stash! It is behind where I sit, so really easy to access what I need. The scrappy shelves at the left are normally hidden by the door. They hold work in progress and tools when the table is cleared, as well as foils for kits.

  2. All you need is a chair on wheels and you need never get up again! Great view of your stash. I know what you mean about the RUBS, I resist buying them because they aren't pretty particulalry, but end up with them because of their utility, and I feel railroaded!! Silly, huh!

  8. I keep seeing stuff from Ikea and feel that I may have to grasp the nettle and pay them a visit. Your shelves look fabulous.
I like the tip about cleaning CB plates with parcel tape. The one which have been used for cutting get loads of tiny scraps in the crevices. I must try that one!
    Thanks.

  11. I would say those shelves make your art space look like a shot out of a magazine. Spectacular. We don't have an IKEA within 1000 miles of where I live, so kudos for the storage solution. Love the chair extension.

    Have a fun filled WOYWW.

  12. The Ikea storage is great, I have one half the size above my desk. When I used to work on my kitchen table (I still do for sewing projects)I would use at least 2 chairs for holding stuff and maybe even 3!

  30. Hi Gill - you are a lady after my own heart - tidy AND that purple WRMK craft mat. But, small confession, I have never been to IKEA and I live in an IKEA city! Really fazed at the thought of getting all the way around on my scooter and being fatigued for months afterwards! I'll succumb to temptation one day.

  36. Oh Gill, one look at those Expedits and I'm a gonner...the thought of those shelves with the table thing sticking out...nah, it would get in the way of the wall heater so can't do that! Nice while it lasted...will spend cash on craft goodies as usual!

We're doing our study up soon and hubby says we can replace all the tatty Homebase shelves I use for my stash at the moment with those Expedit ones - but I'm still not looking forward to the upheaval :-0
