Anna Griffin Cuttlebug cutting & embossing dies now in stock at Foil Play

 

I just love these ornate dies from Anna Griffin! I used the huge Anna Griffin Flourish Emblem die for the Kanban Cavendish Ladies card above, and also as part of a Halloween project, below. For both projects, I have cut the die cut in half, so that the intricate detail isn't hidden away. The project above is an 8 x 8 inch card and the one below is A5, so you can see what a great size this die is.

I used two die cuts from the Anna Griffin Flourish Scroll die for another page in the Halloween project, made from black self adhesive vinyl, a similar material to peel off stickers. The vinyl wasn't actually wide enough to cut the whole of the larger die, but that didn't matter for this project, I just cut the two halves separately.

Foil Play Friends Facebook Group and November Challenge

I've created a new Facebook group so that crafty friends of the Foil Play craft website can share inspiration, hints and tips in a more interactive way than the Facebook page allows.

I'd love it if you would post pictures of your creations featuring products / brands available at Foil Play, and when you do, feel free to link to your blog.

I also plan to run monthly prize challenges, and the November challenge has just started. The theme is Winter Celebrations and the prize is £15 to spend on whatever you like at Foil Play. For more details and to enter, check out the Foil Play Friends Facebook Group. 

Male themed cards from the Kanban So Macho Collection - Football Fan

These cards are all made from the same Kanban die cut & foiled topper sheet - Football Fan from the So Macho collection (sheet code 900817).

I rounded the corners of each topper with a corner chomper & matted each onto silver mirri card. The backing papers used are from the Dovecraft Masculine papers collection.

The first two cards are 8 x 8, the other two are A5.

Although sadly, Kanban ceased trading earlier this year, Foil Play still has a huge selection of versatile Kanban toppers and card available in stock, with free p&p on orders over £10.

Website back on line

The Foil Play web site is back now on a brand new server, thanks to my webmaster, who has pulled out all the stops to get it up and running again.  

Everything is back to normal now, including the automatic order received / despatched emails.

I do apologise again for any inconvenience the downtime has caused.

Website outage

My apologies that the Foil Play website is currently unavailable - it seems that there is a hardware failure on the server, which could (hopefully worst case scenario) take until Monday to fix. 

All orders received up until today have been despatched, even if you haven't had a despatch email - I wasn't able to send them for all orders, due to the site going down this afternoon. 

If you need to email me in the meantime, please use my alternative email, sales@winspiration.co.uk. 

I will post updates when I know more and when the site is back up, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience in the meantime!

Update Saturday am: The old server had failed, a new one is in place and we are working to rebuild the site, which will take a day or so.

Hunkydory Blockbuster - Christmas in July!

Die cut toppers and embellishments from The Hobby House

These beautiful cards may look as if they feature stamped and painstakingly coloured images, but in fact they are all created with die cut toppers from The Hobby House, a company which you may have seen on Create and Craft TV recently.

The A4 die cut topper sheets with lovely images created by Mo Manning, Kenny K, Sylvia Zet and Elizabeth Bell have proved very popular.

 I have now restocked the designs that sold out, and added the Christmas designs.

Kanban Mini Scrapbook album bargains

I took photos of these decorated mini scrapbook albums on the Kanban stand at last year's trade craft show - aren't they just gorgeous?

Sets of pages only (without the rings) are even more of a bargain, at just 60p a set.

Kanban update & more sale bargains

Following on from my post in March, sadly Kanban has now ceased trading, so it is indeed the end of an era. Very sad for all concerned, particularly those who have lost their jobs / livelihood as a result, or are otherwise out of pocket.

All of the company's products have been auctioned off now by the administrators and I made my last trip to the warehouse in Shipley this week to collect stock.

It will take me quite some time to list it all, but I can promise that there are lots of bargains to come, so keep an eye on Foil Play and the Kanban Sale bargains section.

Cards from the Kanban British Birds collection

 

These cards are all from another of my favourite Kanban collections - British Birds, much of which is still available to purchase from Foil Play.

 

Equally suitable for male or female cards, the collection features a delightful range of bird themed toppers and decoupage with beautifully co-ordinating background cards.

The topper sheets I used include Chatsworth Estate Frames, Weston Park & Tatton Park Bookmarks and Weston Park Squares & Sentiments.

Background card includes beige damask & moss green duo and cream & blue script duo. I've also used some backing mats from the Cocoa, Kiwi and Mint collection, which also co-ordinates really well with these toppers.
