Christmas cards from the Buzzcraft Festive Season foiled & die cut toppers with co-ordinating card

I had fun making this selection of Christmas cards from the new Buzzcraft Festive Season range - hope you like them! There are six different foiled & die cut topper sheets in the range, at only 99p a sheet, with a selection of six beautifully co-ordinating printed background card sheets, priced at just 40p each.

The topper on this 6 x 6 kraft card is from the Joy to the World topper sheet. Background card is a mix of Red Sparkle and Green Flourish, with a foiled ribbon from the Ribbons topper sheet and the foiled Christmas border is from the Santa & Robin topper sheet.  
 

The beautiful stag topper on this 8 x 8 kraft card is from the Joy to the World topper sheet. Background card is a mix of Red Flourish and Snowflake, with a foiled ribbon from the Ribbons topper sheet and the foiled Christmas greeting topper is from the Santa & Robin topper sheet.

The Santa topper and foiled greeting strip on this 7 x 7 cream card are from the Santa & Robin topper sheet. Background card is a mix of Red Flourish and Mocha Damask Kandi Core card.  

The Angel topper on this 8 x 8 cream card is from the Christmas Wishes topper sheet. Background card is a mix of Red Sparkle and Green Flourish, with a foiled ribbon from the Ribbons topper sheet, foiled stars from the Stars topper sheet and foiled Christmas greeting from the Joy to the World topper sheet.  

The topper on this 7 x 7 cream card is from the Joy to the World topper sheet. The background is woven from Red Flourish and Green Flourish card, with a border of Festive Dots card.

The topper on this 7 x 7 kraft card is from the Santa & Robin topper sheet. Background card is a mix of Red Flourish and Mocha Damask Kandi Core, with foiled stars from the Stars topper sheet.

The cute polar bear topper on this 6 x 6 kraft card is from the Joy to the World topper sheet. Background card is a mix of Snowflake and Kanban Kandi Core card, with a foiled ribbon from the Ribbons topper sheet and foiled Christmas sentiment from the Santa & Robin topper sheet.

There is good news and bad news about postage & packing. Royal Mail prices have just gone up again as they do each year, and there is now a big difference between the cost of sending 1st and 2nd class which I can no longer absorb. So the bad news is that from now on, all orders sent by Royal Mail will go 2nd class. The good news is that you won't need to spend any more to get free p&p - which still applies for all orders over £10, whilst p&p for orders of £10 & below remains at £1.50.

Jumbo die cut numbers for special occasions - custom cut from your choice of card

I made both of these cards using jumbo die cut numbers with matching shadows - as you can see, they really make an impact!  

The 21st birthday card is an 8 x 8 card, with the numbers cut from gold stardust and gold holographic card. The dinosaur themed card below is a 7 x 7 card, with the numbers cut from blue stardust and blue gloss card.

These jumbo numbers would make a perfect focal point for a special birthday or anniversary card - of course they are great for scrap booking too! 

There are two parts to the jumbo numbers - the shadow (shown above, approximately 9 cm high) and the deckle edged number (shown below, approximately 8.5 cm high).

Each works perfectly as a stand alone number - but if you'd like maximum impact, combine the number and shadow together, as shown in the example below.

You can purchase as many or as few numbers as you choose - you aren't tied to buying a full set if you only need a couple for a particular project. However, if you do need a lot of numbers, there are discounts for bulk purchases of the same design / material.

Storage for thin metal dies - my solution

I've tried various methods of storage for my thin metal dies. My last system involved putting them on A4 magnetic sheets in folders with plastic pockets. I also had a storage folder with smaller sheets in A6 sized pockets. However, the folders were heavy to move and browse through, it was also a faff getting stuff in and out of the pockets. 

I'm much happier with my current system - thin A4 magnetic sheets backed by thick card, stored in a couple of plastic Really Useful Boxes. The boxes need to be strong, so the plastic ones are ideal. They are very heavy, but the beauty of this system is that the boxes have  permanent homes and I can easily flip through to find the sheet that I need, removal and putting back are fuss free.  

To make it easier to organise, I added header tabs to some sheets, as you can see from these step by step pictures. The scalloped tabs are made from Kanban mini scrap book pages, cut down. I used a hand held label printer to label them.

The system wasn't too expensive to put together and it's really easy to slot in additional sheets where needed. I started originally with a 9 litre box (the pink box below), but had to expand as the sheets were getting too tightly packed to flip through easily. The second box (above) is 19 litres - same footprint but higher sides, which means that I could put the box lid on if I wanted.

Hundreds of Dufex rare and discontinued individual picture prints at Foil Play!

I've just finished a marathon session, listing thousands of individual Dufex picture prints and postcards, in hundreds of different designs. They are already proving popular, so stock up on your favourite designs before they sell out!

Dufex picture prints are beautiful - so hard to do them justice in a scan, as they have a unique reflective surface which gives a real touch of glamour to your card and craft projects.

You can use them as an individual card topper, or buy multiples of the same design if you'd like to decoupage and make a stunning 3D topper. Alternatively you can of course use them as picture prints, or even send the postcard toppers!

The hundreds of designs now in stock cover many occasions - including Christmas, lots of nativity designs, new baby, wedding, cute children, lovely animals, picturesque scenes, fantasy designs and many more.

Exciting news - Foil Play has a new website! The new site is mobile friendly and has lots of great new features. 

The same wide range of products from well loved brands is here in the new home. I have rearranged the site so that there are far fewer categories now - I appreciate that it is probably like going into the supermarket and finding that all the aisles have been rearranged... However, you should find it much easier now to find the card making products that you are looking for. The search function is much better on the new site, and you can use the options on the left hand site to filter your selection too. You can browse by brand or by theme, I've also included some of the most popular collections as categories.

Creating an account on the new site is entirely optional. If you do create one, you can now build up loyalty points for discounts on future orders - and of course you won't have to enter your details each time you order. Payment options remain the same: credit / debit card; PayPal; cheque or bank transfer. P&P is still free on all orders over £10 and speedy despatch remains a top priority too!
