Jumbo die cut numbers for special occasions - custom cut from your choice of card

I made both of these cards using jumbo die cut numbers with matching shadows - as you can see, they really make an impact!  

The 21st birthday card is an 8 x 8 card, with the numbers cut from gold stardust and gold holographic card. The dinosaur themed card below is a 7 x 7 card, with the numbers cut from blue stardust and blue gloss card.

These jumbo numbers would make a perfect focal point for a special birthday or anniversary card - of course they are great for scrap booking too! 

There are two parts to the jumbo numbers - the shadow (shown above, approximately 9 cm high) and the deckle edged number (shown below, approximately 8.5 cm high).

Each works perfectly as a stand alone number - but if you'd like maximum impact, combine the number and shadow together, as shown in the example below.

You can purchase as many or as few numbers as you choose - you aren't tied to buying a full set if you only need a couple for a particular project. However, if you do need a lot of numbers, there are discounts for bulk purchases of the same design / material.

CAS cards with Kanban MacKenzie sentiments

Here are three cards that I made with sentiment toppers from the Kanban MacKenzie collection, rather more CAS (clean and simple) in style in contrast to all the bows and rosettes on the Cats and Quilts cards!

All are 6 x 6 cream cards, using a sentiment as the focal point, Bouquet Swirls peach printed background card (from the Floral Bloom collection), a band from a Kensington die cut topper sheet and a touch of bling.

Kanban Cats and Quilts and Kandi Core card

I've been making a few cards recently from Kanban Cats and Quilts die cut toppers, perfect (or should that be purrfect...) for cat loving recipients!

The toppers co-ordinate really nicely with green and purple Kandi Core background card, which is a nice light weight for card covering and layering and works really well with punches and dies too.

As you can see, I went a bit wild with bows and rosettes, also made with Kandi Core card.

I've also used a few of the Kandi Core die cut and foiled Ornate Flourish mats, which are great for adding a bit of extra embellishment.

I used a Tonic punch on the card below - the Kandi Core card worked really nicely with it, as it is a great weight for  punching.

Card with Jayne Netley decoupage and foiling

My friend Millburn sent me this beautiful card for my birthday last month - she knows that I am a kitty lover!

The cute kitties are beautifully decoupaged from a Jayne Netley Mayhew Spring decoupage sheet. The corners and greeting have been die cut from double sided self adhesive film and then foiled with a matt gold foil - gorgeous!

More quick & easy birthday cards with Kanban Kandi Core card

Following on from my post yesterday, here are a few more quick & easy cards. Again each card has a Kandi Core mat, punched using a Martha Stewart Happy Birthday punch. They are decorated simply, with rosette and bow embellishments also made from Kandi Core and buttons. The last card which has a music print on the mat, is finished with an Anna Griffin die cut.

The cards are all 6 x 6, a mixture of cream and brown kraft card.

Kanban Kandi Core card - bows and rosettes

I've been playing with Kanban Kandi Core card this week. It looks most unprepossessing and nondescript on screen, but is a really beautiful and versatile card to craft with. 

Kandi Core is double sided, with the reverse side a more muted version of the design on the front. Each sheet has a coloured core (pictured on the sheet header), so it is particularly suitable for ripping & tearing and distressing, also for use with embossing folders and sanding back. 

The weight is slightly lighter than most other Kanban card stock at 240gsm. This means that it isn't really suitable for base card stock, but it is great for matting and layering and the lighter weight also makes it easier to work with. 

As you can see from the pictures, it is also fantastic for 3D crafts. I had great fun making bows with a Sue Wilson bow die and rosettes with Tim Holtz rosettes dies. I got three rosettes and two complete bows out of each A4 sheet that I used. 

I will blog some of the finished projects made with the Kandi Core embellishments later in the week.

Foiled tattoo heart and leaf cards from DT member Jane

Foiled Anna Griffin Flourish die card & July prize challenge

 

This 8 x 8 inch card was again made using Anna Griffin papers & embellishments. I cut a the background flourish swirl using cream card and the Anna Griffin flourish die below (now reduced by 25%!). I traced around the die with a Sakura Quickie glue pen, waited for it to dry and then foiled with holographic silver foil. I finished the card with a touch of bling and a Craftwork Cards greeting.

Embossed and foiled bird card

I made this 8 x 8 inch card using Anna Griffin paper and embellishments, using an Anna Griffin embossing folder to create the focal image. I highlighted the bird using a Zig glue pen (the chisel tip made this quick & easy to do), then allowed the glue to dry, before rubbing over with matt gold foil. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Cards made from Kanban Simply Fabulous collection

These sumptuous cards are all made from the Kanban Simply Fabulous Collection, a great selection of very glamorous ladies, with perfectly co-ordinating card and mats.

The four decorative toppers used are from a single die cut topper sheet - Sassy Scarlet. I've also used die cut & foiled decorative mats (some of which I cut in half): Beautiful Blush Mats,  Gorgeous Gilt Mats, Catalina Frames Beige & Cream and Catalina Frames Black and Red. Backing card used is Burlesque Gilt, Gilt Damask and Burlesque Rouge.

I cut the bows on each card from the foiled blush and gilt mat sheets so that they co-ordinate perfectly, using Sue Wilson's bow die. I managed to get a bow and two sets of tails from each of the mats, which are approximately A6 in size.
